Instances of use of force between police officers and citizens have made national headlines in recent years. The literature is replete with studies of citizen perceptions of police officers, but little research systematically collects data on how police officers view these incidents. This study reports data from qualitative interviews with police officers. The focus of the study is racial differences in perceptions of officers.
