The following research study explored the patterns correlating to the types of perpetrators that participate in the crime of dismemberment. The data set investigated, consisted of 100 cases that were collected throughout the United States within 50 different states over the past 47 years. The objective for study was for the researchers to assess the data from a qualitative lens to ascertain perpetration patterns and plausible typologies that subsist amongst this offender population. The research design utilized to evaluate the cases included a data content analysis for identifying perpetration patterns and victimization patterns of criminality. The data collected provided an innovative exploration of profiling and behavior analysis patterns to employ for the establishment of baseline offender typologies and classifications of injurious behaviors alike.
