Abstract

The Director of Research and Analysis for the Philadelphia Police Department outlines the organizational benefits and challenges of implementing a citywide randomized and controlled field experiment in an emerging policing paradigm. The presentation discusses implementation issues and organizational hurdles, but also looks at the considerable benefits to learning robust and reliable findings for one of the largest police departments in the country.
