Explaining U.S. Police Militarization

Abstract

More attention is being paid to the police militarization phenomenon. Aside from documenting its existence, growth, and normalization -- very little scholarship has been devoted to actual explanation. This paper begins this process by exploring several different theoretical possibilities at both the macro and micro levels.
