Abstract

The purpose of the current research is to evaluate the relative effectiveness of community supervision and institutional training for Japanese youth offender on further reoffending. After controlling for criminogenic risk factors using propensity score, those who were treated in the juvenile training school showed significantly lower rates of recidivism than those who were placed under community supervision.
