Transitions From Court Placement to Communities: Effective Programs to Foster Positive Educational and Behavioral Outcomes

Abstract

This poster will provide the audience with information about national level trends for the transition of court-involved youth from residential treatment settings back into their community. The authors will discuss the challenges that these individuals face during the transition period, as well as common factors that influence the educational and delinquency-related outcomes of the transition. A review of the literature on re-entry for court-involved youth will be addressed and the poster will discuss research-supported programs that have shown to be effective in facilitating this process.
