Abstract

This paper and its roundtable delineate the ramifications of Professor James Opolot's publications in African criminology and criminal justice systems. The panelists analyze Dr. Opolot's contributions in understanding police organizations in African countries, challenges to environmental crimes and terrorism in Africa, legal and non-legal judicial institutions in Africa, the role of the Judiciary in Africa, Dr. Opolot's take on organized crime in Africa, his analysis of Western media view of crime in Africa, etc. Furthermore, the panel notes on hurdles James had to clear and his iron-hearted determination to succeed in life.
