Over recent years, the National Institute of Justice has invested funding in a series of projects aimed at advancing the body of knowledge surrounding sex offender management. These projects include studies examining the application of risk assessment methods for both juveniles and adults, operational assessments of sex offender registration systems, and projects focused on eliciting and analyzing the perspectives of law enforcement, community corrections professionals, and the general public. This final portion of the panel will offer a broad overview of the current NIJ sex offender management research portfolio, and will include commentary and perspectives from researchers engaged in NIJ-funded projects.
