The Future of Policing in the United States: Increased Communicative and Training Solutions

Abstract

The police in the United States are under a microscope of scrutiny today, especially with events that are heavily covered by the media, for example, incidents involving use of force. Police and police training is constantly adapting, trying to best prepare for future issues. This research will delve into the major issues of where police training is lacking, and where improvements need to be implemented to reflect the current real world scenarios police officers face. Additionally, this study will illustrate how resources, funding, and new approaches to training will help make modern day policing more effective, efficient, and safe.
