Translating Research into Actionable Policy

• In Event: Roundtable: Linking Criminological Research to Policy and Practice

Abstract

As academicians and scholars in our fields we hope to share and disseminate our knowledge through our research results and published works. How can our research impact policy and bring about changes? This remains to be a critical question and a challenging one for those who attempt to answer it. Shaping policy seems to be a difficult task for academicians but yet the policy sector believes that research can inform and guide their agenda. This presentation is intended to address why academic research has little impact on practice and policy.
