Abstract

This poster outlines the similarities and differences in dealing with juvenile offenders in Germany and the United States. It explores the main philosophies, different types of sanctions and processes used with juveniles and young adults in these two countries. Further, this poster examines the effectiveness of these strategies. This comparative perspective provides an opportunity to understand what works best in juvenile justice and what the two countries can learn from each other when responding to youth crime.
