Teen Court: A Gender and Racially Neutral Effective Solution

Thu, Nov 16, 7:15 to 8:15pm, Marriott, Grand Ballroom Salon E, 5th Floor

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the use of Teen Court Programs as an effective gender and racially neutral initiative to combat juvenile delinquency. This research also explains how Teen Court Programs provide a sense of responsibility to its participants developed through positive peer interactions. The current analysis compares Teen Court completion data for two fiscal years. This research is guided by the Theory of African American Offending, Feminist Theories as well as a view of the School to Prison Pipeline as an over-representation contributor.
