Does Head Injury Interact with Popular Criminology Constructs to Better Predict Antisocial Behavior?

Thu, Nov 16, 6:00 to 7:00pm, Marriott, Grand Ballroom Salon E, 5th Floor

Abstract

Traumatic head injury has been linked to an increase in a variety of maladaptive behaviors including increased risk-taking, aggression, and violence. The link between head injury and antisocial behavior is not well understood, however. The aim of this study is to investigate the connection between head injury and antisocial behavior by incorporating head injury into popular criminological constructs. In order to investigate this connection, multiple interactions are investigated between head injury and various social learning constructs, strain variables, social bond variables, and self-control constructs.
