Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
The National Institute of Justice’s (NIJ) CrimeSolutions.gov and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention’s (OJJDP) Model Programs Guide (MPG) have inventoried hundreds of program evaluations, rating the strength of evidence for what works, what doesn’t and what’s promising in criminal justice, juvenile justice, and crime victim services. While the program databases continue to be the foundational content of the site, as social science grows and evolves, they have also diversified in the type, breadth, and scope of evidence-based information since their first inception. Presenters will discuss the resources available on these sites, recent efforts to improve the program review process, and next steps to further enrich the information available to help policymakers and practitioners make informed decisions about programs and practices.
