Wildlife and Green Criminology: Deconstructing Core Concepts

Thu, Nov 16, 12:30 to 1:50pm, Marriott, Room 415, 4th Floor

Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel

Abstract

This collection of papers addresses the often unchallenged or under-explored aspects of core concepts in wildlife and green crime. We investigate in more depth how wildlife has been theorized as well as how wildlife is socially constructed. This links to further analysis of how harm to wildlife and the environment is theorized and defined. Overall, we address what might a deconstruction and reformulation of these core concepts mean for the field of green criminology.
