Session Submission Summary

Key Findings On Girls’ Delinquency Based On Two Longitudinal Studies And One Early Intervention Study

Thu, Nov 16, 8:00 to 9:20am, Marriott, Franklin 7, 4th Floor

Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel

Abstract

Longitudinal studies on the development and causes of girls’ delinquency, compared to those on boys, are clearly in the minority. The same can be said about early intervention studies relevant for the prevention of delinquency. The present panel fills a gap by reporting results from two longitudinal studies on girls, one based in the United Kingdom and the other based in the United States. In addition, the panel consists of the evaluation of an early intervention program for girls at risk for delinquency in Canada.
