Sexual Victimization Among Vulnerable/Understudied College Populations: Focus on LGBTQ, Male, and Repeat Victims

Thu, Nov 16, 12:30 to 1:50pm, Marriott, Grand Ballroom Salon B, 5th Floor

Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel

Abstract

Sexual victimization among college populations has received a lot of attention in recent years, and many institutions of higher education are engaged in efforts to improve their prevention efforts, as well to better support victims. This panel will further our understanding of the risk, context, and consequences of sexual victimization among particularly vulnerable and/or understudied populations. Using data from two large, recent studies on sexual victimization among college populations, four papers will be presented. The papers will focus on the sexual victimization experiences of sexual minority students, gender minority students, men, and those who experience repeat victimization.
