Abstract

The Caribbean is one of the most diverse areas in the world as evidenced by its unique culture, beautiful landscapes, history, and people. While these islands are known for their idyllic beaches and resorts, and the perfect wedding destination, many of these islands, especially the English-speaking islands, share the common problem of a high crime and violence rate. Many Caribbean scholars agree that not nearly enough is known about the levels and causes of these crimes. The Caribbean Crime and Justice Study group will explore some of these major crime problems faced by these countries.
