For the past decades, researcher have examined the differences between Criminology/Criminal Justice (CCJ) majors and other majors in attitudes toward various correctional issues and problems. These comparison studies have sought to identify important attitudinal differences that may impact these future justice professionals’ performances. However, there has been little research on the Prison Rape Myths (PRM) of CCJ majors and whether they differ from other students. Therefore, using data gathered from college students from a large, northeastern, and public university in 2017, we examine the difference in PRM among CCJ and non-CCJ majors. Possible reasons for differences in PRM among majors are offered and the practical and pedagogical implications of the findings are discussed.
