Translating Person-in-Context Victim Research to Practitioners

Abstract

Evidence from a large number of studies suggests that victimization is a combination of individual vulnerabilities and environmental risk-factors. These variables are often found to interact and contribute both direct and indirect effects on exposure to victimization (including moderating effects). This information can be helpful to practitioners concerned with preventing and intervening in victimization. This presentation will present the results of person-in-context research on victimization and discuss how practitioners can use this information on policies and programs.
