The election of Donald J. Trump to be the 45th president of the United States placed in bold relief questions regarding democracy, legitimacy, corruption and the emerging topic of crimes of the powerful. In order to test the applicability of a recently created model about control of crimes of the powerful (Ross, 2017) and perhaps modify it in light of this real life case study this paper examines efforts to resist, respond to, and hereafter control Trump and his White House. It critically examines the successes and failures of these efforts. It also makes recommendations for the future.
