Identifying Effective Responses to Youth Violence in Latin America and the Caribbean: Results from an Evidence Gap Mapping Study

Fri, Nov 16, 8:00 to 9:20am, Marriott, L508, Lobby Level

Abstract

In this presentation we will ground the participants in data and share the findings from a global evidence gap mapping study produced through examination of systematic reviews, meta analyses, rapid evidence assessments and research syntheses that analyzed the effectiveness of prevention and intervention approaches to stem violence affecting youth ages 10-29. The results from the evidence gap mapping study are being used to inform research, practice, and policymaking in Latin America and Caribbean contexts. The session will describe the research reviewed and evidence revealed, including results related to the implementation quality of the intervention and prevention approaches as well as the research from which the evidence is generated. The resulting evidence gap maps will be presented according to region, topic, population, outcomes, and research-related characteristics.
