There are two fundamental properties of any measure to be useful in the social sciences, both validity and reliability. Each of these properties are of paramount experience, and are especially important when looking at measures that have not been previously psychometrically validate—as is the case with the Klockars et al (1997) police integrity measure. Using data from various police departments around the world, we assess the reliability of measuring police integrity using the Klockars and colleagues (1997) method. Specifically, using the generalizability theory framework we assess the reliability of the police integrity measure at multiple points in time. Theoretical and policy implications are discussed.
