The presence of severe antisocial behavior and affective deficits in adolescents has been shown as an important predictor for the manifestation of psychopathy in adulthood. This study aims to develop a technological tool to evaluate the physiological responses of emotions in a clinical and non-clinical sample of male and female adolescents enrolled in Brazilian Schools. This tool will be used in the clinical and forensic context to support the Brazilian version of the Hare Psychopathy Checklist Young Version (PCL:YV), to identify subgroups of adolescents that present different manifestations of behavioral and affective problems. The early identification of these behaviors can support the development of social programs that can be implemented in public schools of Brazil to prevent and intervene in this population and also in young offenders who present aggressive behavior, since attempts to intervene in psychopathy in adulthood have been shown to be ineffective. The development of this project intends to unite Psychology, Biological Psychiatry, Criminal Sciences and Technology in order to provide results in both the individual and social spheres, aiming to identify psychopathic traits in adolescence making possible to prevent and/or diminish the violence impact on Brazilian society and in contemporary world.
