Efforts to Develop a Better Understanding of Juvenile Delinquency and What Works to Prevent and Intervene

Abstract

OJP is continuing to advance research efforts to understand and respond to juvenile delinquency and to improve the system’s response. This includes work to understand onset, desistance and persistence of juvenile delinquency and offending. Staff will discuss some of the most salient OJP-supported efforts in this regard including the latest findings from current research and evaluations which may have implications for juvenile justice programs and practice.
