Session Submission Type: Roundtable Session
Graduate school mentorship often prepares students for many elements of successful completion of a Ph.D. and attaining academic employment. Gaining employment, however, is often where the structured mentorship ends. Newly employed assistant professors often find themselves asking questions about how to adjust to a faculty role (logistics, work-life balance, etc.). The roundtable will discuss some of the barriers that newly employed tenure-track professors face and strategies to overcome these barriers.
