Missouri's Incarcerated Population: Examining Prison Climate and Priorities for Reform

Abstract

This presentation will review key findings from a survey administered in conjunction with the Prison Research & Innovation Initiative to individuals incarcerated in a Missouri Department of Corrections facility. It will provide an overview of the incarcerated population’s attitudes toward prison, thoughts about the prison environment in which they live, and priorities for reform, among other topics. The presentation will link these findings to potential reform opportunities to be implemented in the future as part of the PRII project.
