2018-2022 Trends in Global Terrorism from the Global Terrorism Trends and Analysis Center (GTTAC)

Abstract

The U.S. Department of State’s Global Terrorism Trends and Analysis Center (GTTAC) operated by Development Services Group and the Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center at George Mason University, aims to transparently document all the terrorist incidents occurring around the world. In this paper we present our findings and trends on global terrorism incidents and characteristics from our latest Statistical Annex (for year 2021), some preliminary data for 2021, and our public-facing portal. GTTAC researchers will also highlight and present research on perpetrators and locations of interest over the previous year.
