Disrupting labor trafficking in the agricultural sector: Looking at opportunities beyond law enforcement interventions

Abstract

While many tactics have been proposed to disrupt human trafficking, it continues to be a thriving international operation. Law enforcement interventions continue to be the primary mechanism utilized to identify and disrupt trafficking operations. Recognizing the inherent limitations of law enforcement interventions, we explore how stakeholders can best coordinate their disruption efforts to most effectively reduce the number of people victimized through labor trafficking recruitment-to-exploitation supply chains, with a focus on the agricultural sector.
