Human trafficking, and sex trafficking in particular, is a local, national, and international problem, affecting the young and old, many of whom are trafficked from poor countries to richer countries. The physical and mental trauma that victims of sex trafficking endure is extensive and hence, it requires a great deal of physical, emotional, and trauma-informed care and support. The current study presents a systematic review of research focused on the treatment of sex trafficking victims. The results of the study suggest that the treatment programs provided some kind of improvements for the survivors of sex trafficking, irrespective of the gender and age (Cormany & Patterson, 2016, Kometiani & Farmer, 2020). The requirement of policy reformation is also needed along with the spreading of social awareness (Baldwin et. al , 2013, Muraya & Fry, 2015). A review of some of the more popular treatment programs is provided in the paper, as well as suggestions for additional research and policies focused on victims of sex trafficking.
