A Near-Repeat Analysis of Crimes on a College Campus

Abstract

While much attention has been devoted to studying the phenomenon of near-repeat crimes, less attention has been directed to if these same patterns apply to college campuses. This study explores if crimes such as rape, robbery, and burglary cluster in space and time on a college campus, as they do in cities. It is hypothesized that similar patterns will emerge. Findings and potential crime prevention policies will be presented.
