The Effect of Police Legitimacy on Personal Information Disclosure Willingness

Thu, Nov 17, 6:30 to 8:00pm, Atrium Ballroom, Atrium Level

Abstract

Technology is rapidly developing, and many industries are making various attempts to utilize new technologies. The police are also trying to establish security strategies that incorporate AI technology. However, despite the need for social consensus on AI policing, people are focused only on technology development. For this reason, this study aims to identify the general citizens' perception of AI policing and the influencing factors that affect their perception so that they can be referred to when establishing and implementing AI policing strategies in the future. To this end, I would like to confirm the influence of Tyler's Procedural Justice model. On the other hand, for AI policing, the use of personal information data by people is a key factor, and there is a risk of personal information infringement. Even if you have a positive attitude toward AI policing, you can refuse to use the technology with a sense of rejection if your personal information needs to be used. Therefore, this study intends to check the effect of privacy perception on the intention to use AI policing.
