Practitioner Meets Academia – How Feasibly can Research Findings be Implemented in Correctional Settings?

Abstract

Although it is vital to implement evidence-based practices in criminal justice settings, the practicality and feasibility of doing so is often ignored in corrections. To fill this gap, the practitioner’s experience and perspective offers key insight. Some practices that will be highlighted in this poster are the use of telehealth in correctional settings, and the prevalence/response to mental health and substance abuse diagnoses by mental health staff.
