With incarceration numbers on a slow decline, attention has turned to effective practices in community supervision, specifically how to decrease rates of revocation to prison. This study examines services provided by a reentry program located in an urban southwest area. This program provides reentry brokerage services to address an array of criminogenic need and responsivity areas for justice involved individuals. Admission to the program is voluntary and open-ended, meaning clients move into active and inactive stages, but do not get “closed out”. This study will examine the effectiveness of this flexible, needs-driven, open-access approach to reentry services on rates of recidivism. Strengths and challenges of this approach will be discussed, as will policy implications for reentry services.
