This poster presents findings from a pilot study of a community college course for credit that was taught inside of an adolescent detention facility. The primary objective of this semester-long pilot was to explore through secondary data whether teenagers in jail were interested, eligible, and in a detention center long enough to complete a college course. Findings show that incarcerated adolescents, while often overlooked for college, are interested, capable and would benefit from college classes in detention and that community colleges are particularly well suited to the task of implementing these courses.
