Virtual reality is a novel technology and an increasing number of researchers are beginning to use it to further their own projects. However, the technology comes with some aspects that make it a unique tool for criminological research. A team from the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University will discuss potential benefits of using virtual reality for your research. This will include how to move your concepts to actual simulations, how to secure funding, and how to collaborate with other VR researchers. Potential difficulties that researchers new to the technology may experience will also be addressed. Ideally, this will help those learning about the technology to feel more comfortable in utilizing virtual reality in the future.
