Session Submission Type: Roundtable Session
While many curricula include an ethics course at the undergraduate level, these are not the norm in graduate criminology and criminal justice education. Indeed, at the graduate level, students are often merely socialized about ethics via the guidance of mentors or by passing comments by faculty. Even at the undergraduate level, where ethics is a course, the content tends to lean toward practitioner decision-making, more so than ethics relevant to academics. This roundtable presents possible approaches for increasing ethics education relevant to behavior in academia. It offers guidance and lessons learned from faculty who have engaged in such educational efforts.
