This qualitative investigation engages in semi-structured interviews with 11 police officers from a U.S.-Mexico border community, shedding light on their encounters with body-worn cameras (BWCs). Recognizing the indispensable role of BWCs in policing, officers articulate concerns regarding technological limitations, impeding seamless integration into their daily duties. The study underscores the dual functionality of BWCs in averting unfounded complaints and ensuring professional conduct. While officers appreciate the value of BWCs, technological challenges emerge as significant barriers, elucidating the intricate dynamics between positive attributes and operational impediments in the adoption of BWCs within law enforcement.
