The Death of Police Militarization: Detailing the Normalization of a Regressive Phenomenon

Abstract

Criminology has only recently taken notice of a phenomenon that has been marching forward in plain sight for at least the last 40 years. This paper examines recent consequential changes in the area of police militarization - specifically, the processes by which its rapid normalization is leading to its metaphorical death.
