The current study used the job demands-resources model to examine the three job burnout dimensions of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced sense of accomplishment among officers at two prisons in China. The job demands-resources model classifies workplace variables into either job demands or job resources. Job demands make the job more difficult, increasing negative outcomes, such as job burnout. Job resources make the job more successful and enjoyable, increasing positive outcomes, such as job satisfaction, and decreasing negative outcomes, such as job burnout. The results will be presented and discussed.
