The current study aims to expand the police legitimacy literature by examining various predictors of citizens' perceptions of police legitimacy. We used convenience sampling of Korean university students to examine the impact of an individual's level of institutional trust and how it drives their perception of police legitimacy. The results indicate that while the current study concurs with the procedural justice theorem, we also found that institutional trust was a significant driver of procedural justice, legitimacy, and obligation to obey.
