The Unnamed OKC Homelessness Project is a mixed multi-method project whose aim is to empower participating members of OKC’s unhoused population in crafting narratives around their reality. One of the projects that emerged from this endeavor is a photo display consisting of photographs taken by people experiencing homelessness in OKC. Photographs from this project have been displayed in multiple settings ranging from concert venues to more conventional contexts in and around the University of Central Oklahoma. While using some of the photographs from this project for illustrative purposes, this paper will also discuss some challenges, along with the importance of creating and disseminating criminological knowledge in less traditional, and participatory, manners. Other ongoing efforts will be presented for consideration as well.
