As the program ratings for CrimeSolutions change to reflect specific outcome findings rather than overall program effectiveness, the review process has had to evolve. Rating programs by outcomes allows for more granularity in understanding what programs are effective at, and for whom. In this presentation, we review the methods considerations that are part of the new review process, highlight where the field still needs to improve in reporting on evaluations, and explore the efforts CrimeSolutions has undertaken to better account for external validity, follow-up periods, multiple measures within outcome domain, and measuring effect sizes.
