While many mass shootings portrayed in the media involve places of worship, schools, and commercial locations, there are many underlying mass shooting incidents that occur in a household involving domestic violence. While these attacks occur clandestinely, they are increasing in frequency across the nation and have an alarming rate of women fatalities. Yet, little research has aimed to extensively focus on the characteristics of these perpetrators that play into these domestic mass shootings in the United States. This current study addresses this gap in the literature exploring twenty-four domestic violence mass shootings cases from the year 2023 through a content analysis. Findings demonstrate the intersection of similarities and differences in domestic violence mass shootings involving motivations and sociodemographic factors. Through the research conducted, it can be used to understand the potential warning signs and increase forms of intervention that could be suitable for offenders and victims
