U.S. Support to International Criminal Justice Reform: Data-Informed and Evidence-Based

Wed, Nov 13, 9:30 to 10:50am, Pacific I - 4th Level

Abstract

This panel will explore the approaches that the Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs is taking to introduce data-driven design to INL programming. INL is at the forefront of criminal justice reform around the world and uses data to inform program design, set policy priorities, and support bilateral and regional partners in addressing crime and drug challenges. The presentation will discuss INL’s internal approaches to developing data-driven programming, how INL incorporates and works with bilateral partners to support the development of criminal justice data systems, and how INL measures and seeks to understand the impact of INL programming through criminal justice data and statistics.
