Abstract

The emerging trends of Artificial Intelligence (AI) present transformative potential technologies for enhancing ways and means in drug related crime. The application of AI can significantly improve the accuracy and speed of drug crime detection and investigations. The current study endeavors to provide a comprehensive review of research and the prospects of AI applications in drug related crime. The study reviews the techniques, implications, and limitations associated with AI in this context. Additionally, it assesses how previous literature and reports have addressed AI in the context of drug crime. The study outlines the implications for law enforcement agencies and policymakers, emphasizing the need for transparent AI integration in efforts to combat drug-related offenses. The study also suggests avenues for future research, including the development of frameworks to govern the use of AI in law enforcement contexts.
