Did you know that young children do drugs for a way out of society or to cope with inner stress? According to the National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics, 21.3% of 8th graders have tried illicit drugs at least once. By the time they're in 12th grade, 46.6% of teens have tried illicit drugs. They also state that 1-in-8 teenagers have abused an illicit drug in the year of 2023. This is a serious issue that needs to be discussed and solved for the better of our world, and our children. In this paper the reader will be educated on the treatments that could help a juvenile and the theories leading up to why they do drugs. By using survey of approximately 30 students in the Schuylkill County area, the current research will compare juvenile drug abuse from women and males with national data.
