In recent years, the study of wrongful convictions has expanded tremendously, uncovering the profound consequences for those who have experienced this injustice. Yet, the experiences of exonerees’ families, specifically children who also bear the brunt of these miscarriages of justice, have remained largely unexplored. I seek to bridge this gap by investigating the impact of wrongful convictions on the children of exonerees, examining how their lives are shaped by this profound injustice. Through in-depth interviews, I aim to unearth the challenges these children face at different stages of their lives: before, during, and after their parent's incarceration. The findings aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the experiences of exonerees' children, contributing to the broader discourse on wrongful convictions and their far-reaching effects on families and society.
