The study aims to explore the experiences of individuals who have been victims of Non-Consensual Distribution of Intimate Images (NDII). Utilizing a mixed methods approach, the research aimed to understand the emotional, psychological, and social impact of NDII on survivors. Surveys were completed by undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff at a private university on the North-East Coast. 66 % (171) of respondents were females. Out of the 260 responses, 20% (52) said they experienced NDII. The majority of the participants who indicated that their images were shared without their consent reported it was done by their current or former partner. Further, 15 in-person interviews with respondents allowed us to analyze the survivors' narratives and perspectives using a grounded theory approach. This allowed the researchers to understand the complex effects of NDII, including feelings of shame, humiliation, guilt, anxiety, and isolation as well as a palpable lack of support from people in authority. The research identifies key policies and approaches that may mitigate the detrimental effects of NDII for individuals.
