In an effort to understand labor trafficking in Nebraska, an ongoing assessment is being conducted using a multi-phased approach. Interviews with stakeholders, providers, and survivors are being gathered to inform the following research objectives: (1) what is the nature of labor trafficking in the state; (2) what are the challenges of law enforcement and legal actors when investigating these crimes; and (3) what are the challenges of service providers when responding to survivors. Data analysis is ongoing. This presentation provides preliminary findings from these interviews, including key themes identified and lessons learned during the interview process.
